Book and Volume put out requests for submissions when we are done reviewing and publishing the manuscripts in our care. Usually, when we put out a call for manuscript submissions, we get a lot. A whole lot. We have limited staff, and we would love to give each manuscript the time and attention it deserves. We can’t also run manuscripts through a computer system, so we have to handle reading them ourselves.

It takes a lot of time to go through each manuscript we get. But we eventually finish up. When we are done with the manuscripts we have on ground; we put out requests for more. So we can say we don’t have a definite time frame for when we put out calls for submissions.
